Really location is a big part of choosing where to take. your sweetie on the most Romantic Getaway, but don’t forget romance can also just be gazing in each other’s eyes, listening to one another with full and honest interest and learning your partners love language. It took me a long time, to realize my cool and most of the time collected husband, is a nervous wreck before taking a flight. He worries about forgetting important items, and needs to be at the airport at least 2 hours before take off. While, I am a more-the plane won’t leave without me kinda attitude. So, in order to ensure we have a wonderful time before we even click that confirm your flight-I make sure to do what I can to ease his angst. I pack mints incase his belly get’s upset from the stress and bring along calming oils to soothe him. Best of all I try and remind him why we are going and use gentle language to not make him feel embarrassed or shamed for having some pre-flight nerves. So try and remember, it doesn’t really matter where you’re going, if you don’t pay attention to what your significant other needs in real time.
When choosing a location, decide what strengths each partner has and utilize them when preparing your itinerary. Grab a bottle of wine and some cheese and crackers, tuck the kiddos in bed, or let them know that mommy and daddy are having some grown up time to show them that your marriage is important. Dream big-but discuss budget and make sure you are both on the same page for how much you want to spend. Believe it or not, my husband loves to go big-while I am ok doing things on a dime. I can be just as happy, if not more, chewing on pretzels and drinking beer, then going to a 5-star restaurant. So make sure you are communicating!!!!1
Pack your own Charcuterie Board
Getting away with your significant other is a vital part to building bonds of connection. I love making my husband feel loved in small things often. We start our Romantic Getaway the minute we take off-whether in the car for a long road trip or a flight to some far off destination. You don’t always have to spend tons of money to keep the fire alive.
My first Tip is to make your own Romantic Charcuterie Board to eat on the flight or pull over on that long drive at a serene roadstop or quick stop off at a park. You can map it out before if you’re like me and need to have things scheduled to the minute-or if you’re more of a go with the flow kinda traveler, stop when your belly rumbles or when you feel like it. I start preparing for a getaway days before. Stocking up on the essentials is always helpful. A charcuterie can be compiled of any of your favorite meats, cheese and breads. I include olives and honey to make this snack a meal. My husband always loves when I surprise him with a sexy snack. That’s right-I said it. A sexy snack. His eyes light up when we are getting a little hungry on our flight and I ask the flight attended for 2 bottles of red wine and unpack my well executed Charcuterie Snacks.
How to Prepare
Depending on the duration of the journey, I typically back all of my snacks and necessieties, like tylenol, gum, eye masks, ear plus, noise cancelling head phones and games like mad-libs, a travel checkers board as well as food in a backpack. http://www.calpack.com

If you are going on a RoadTrip- create a playlist of your favorite songs to sing along together. Decide who is playing DJ-we select the phone of the person not doing most of the driving and create a playlist for that adventure. If we are going to the country mountains or to check out bands in Nashville, we might choose songs that get us ready for some great melodies. Headed to the Beach or quite lake side? Create some calming, fun in the sun music to fit the mood
